There's nothing small about small business. You might have a great idea, a business in mind, an interest in working for yourself... and that is great! But what comes with it might be a bit more than you expected.
Accounting, Business Plans, Contracts and Leases, financing and investment capital, Cash flow and debt management, Inventory and purchasing, asset management, Human resources (hiring, training, management, firing, employee issues), IT (a.k.a. computer stuff), vendor relations, marketing, sales, reporting and analysis, growth and development, quality assurance, legal/compliance... and these are just some of the things that are important in nearly every business.
Don't get me wrong, being an entrepreneur is one of the most rewarding careers in the world. Aside from 'being your own boss', you also get to - employ people, see them start families, purchase a new home or car, send their kids to college or simply have the peace of mind that they now have health insurance and can keep the lights on where they live. I started my first business 9 years ago and have never looked back.
With nearly 20 years of sales and sales management experience, 9 years of entrepreneurial experience and having consulted 100's of companies in need of help, I can tell you no company is without weaknesses. From clients like GE Healthcare, Tyco/Covidien and Siemens Medical Solutions to start-ups and local businesses, non are infallible (mine included).
Sometimes, business owners and managers are too close to the problems to see them. Sometimes they are unwilling to make the changes because it's too personal to them. Sometimes, they just need help. Thats where I come in. As a hands-on consultant, I work with your team to understand your business, ascertain your company goals and work with you to create a plan to execute change to make those goals attainable.
Interested? Write to me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Send me some information about you, your company and a brief description of the issues and we can go from there. I look forward to hearing from you.
